Five Ways To Become A Morning Person

Ever since I entered college, I became the ultimate night owl. Most of my work was accomplished at night and I slept in through the morning. However, I felt like I was missing opportunities because most events happen during the day. If you are also a night owl, I am sharing today five ways to help you become a morning person. As they say, the early bird seizes the worm.

1. Set An Alarm for Sleep

Sleeping is incredibly important for our help. Studies have shown that getting eight hours of sleep literally improves our brain function and health. One of the hardest parts of getting enough sleep for me was getting into bed on time. Now, I set an alarm at 10:30 pm and 11:00 pm to remind myself to get ready for bed and to go to sleep. iPhones also have a bedtime option that is perfect for this! It sends you reminders. This way, you are conditioning yourself to go to bed at the right time every day and your body will naturally begin to get tired around this time every day.

2.  Plan An Exciting Breakfast

There is nothing better than waking up early and knowing you have amazing food in the fridge waiting to be made or eaten. When an exciting breakfast is planned, you will want to not hit that snooze button and get out of bed ASAP. If you have a tight morning schedule, meal prep for breakfast just as you would lunch and dinner. I swear this works the best.

3. Plan Your Morning Routine The Night Before

Part of the reason why mornings are hard for me is because I get up and try to think of everything I'm supposed to be doing. I try to plan the night before, so that when I wake up I know exactly what I should be doing to make the most out of my morning.

4. Sleep with Natural Light

I find waking up to natural light is more relaxing than waking up to the jarring sounds of my phone alarm. Especially with the current summer season, the sun rises around 6AM and you will start getting up with the sun. Of course, you should plan on getting to sleep earlier too if you are going to wake up this early.

5. Pick An Outfit The Night Before

I like wearing a nice outfit just as much as I like eating food. I find that when I pick out a really cute outfit the night before, I am more incentivised to start the day because I want to wear my outfit. Here is an example of an outfit I have been loving lately:
